Redeemer is a church that is starting from scratch and as you might imagine it takes a lot of resources to be able to effectively carry out the mission God calls us to. Giving is a way to fuel the mission of the church, to support one another, and to renew our city and world. Examples of giving is found in both the Old and New Testament. In the Old Testament we are taught the principle of the tithe. Giving is the only thing that God gives us permission to test Him in (Malachi 3:10). In the New Testament we are taught to give generously, sacrificially, and cheerfully as an act of worship and love (2 Cor 8:1-2; 9:1).
